San Francisco, CA – March 2009 – Pacific Fertility Center is pleased to announce its 50th child delivered after using preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS). Recent media attention about “designer babies” mentioned PGD and PGS. The use of this science for such “futuristic” action should not diminish the value and purpose for which it is used today. Pacific Fertility Center is proud to have been a pioneer in the true science and beneficial use of PGD and PGS .The value of these tools, as a way to help families build healthy futures, should be at the forefront of our medical breakthroughs. PGD has enabled Pacific Fertility Center to extend its goal of building families, one healthy baby at a time.

Some steps Pacific Fertility Center takes to reduce multiple pregnancy risk include:

San Francisco, CA – October 15, 2004 - Pacific Fertility Center is now participating in an important program that helps protect the fertility of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Fertile Hope, an advocacy organization that raises awareness about fertility issues for cancer patients, is partnering with carefully selected clinics throughout the US in a program called Sharing Hope. The program will be open to those who have been diagnosed with cancer, want to preserve their fertility and have limited financial means. Sharing Hope offers qualifying cancer patients significant discounts for fertility-preservation treatments, such as embryo freezing and egg freezing before undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery.
